Ramsnet Employee Activities Home Activities Welcome to AISG Human Resources Policies, Guides and Handbooks Teaching and Learning Communications Toolbox Innovation & Technology Athletics Activities Food & Nutrition Transportation Finance & Procurement Our students participate in a wide range of clubs and after school activities. From athletics, to academic or service clubs, there is sure to be an activity for every student to enjoy and become passionate about. Please select the Divisional After School Activities program you wish to view. Elementary School Elementary After School Activities (EASA) The Elementary After School Activities (EASA) program has been created for students to connect with peers outside their grade and class, be risk-takers by trying new experiences or simply enjoy building skills in a fun, positive and safe environment. The program is designed to offer students opportunities to participate in dynamic, compassionate, and connected activities. Activities are designed and tailored for elementary students with the intent of developing skills and interests, with a view to promote continued activity participation in the lower and upper secondary programs. Students are exposed to a balanced variety of activities offered by teachers, coaches, outside instructors, and community volunteers. The EASA year is divided in three sessions and student participation is not mandatory. Enrollment in the program requires students to follow a time line established for each session. Each session will have information regarding the instructor of the activity, activity description, day of activity and a required number of students for the activity to occur. Session 1 activities are only available to Grades 1-5. Kindergarten students are able to participate in after school activities beginning Session 2. There are no after school activities for Pre-Kindergarten students. How do I sign my child up to an EASA? Parents will be notified by email prior to each session starts. Instructions will be given to preview session activities. Please note registration is First Come First Served. Please be careful of activity selection as once the registration is submitted, no further access for activity changes may occur. Please note, some activities may be canceled if the minimum number of students is not met. When this occurs, you will receive a notification and your child will be offered another available activity. 2024-2025 SESSION DATES Session 1 September 9 – November 15 Session 2 November 25 – March 7 Session 3 March 17 – May 23 The Five Categories of EASA at AISG All of the EASAs at AISG fall into one or more of the categories: Arts, Athletics, Academic/Social Emotional, Technology, and Clubs/Paid Activities. A full list of the EASA offerings, along with brief descriptions, is found below. Please note, to access Lower and Upper Secondary Athletics information, please click here . Secondary School Secondary Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Philosophy AISG's Co-Curricular Activities Program (CCA) is an integral part of the overall educational experience of our students. We want our students to pursue their passions and interests in a safe and inclusive learning environment. AISG values the importance of a co-curricular program and its effects on our students' social, mental-emotional, and physical well-being. The AISG Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Program believes in: Developing well rounded individuals that seek to challenge, take risks, and explore new opportunities. Creating successful students in school and in life who aspire, achieve, and contribute to their chosen endeavors. Providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. CCA Categories The categories and acronyms below are discussed and used frequently during a student’s time at AISG. All organized activity offerings at AISG can be deemed a CCA. Sub-categories of CCAs are below. AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES (ASAs) 3:20 pm - 4:40 pm (excluding Wednesdays) ASAs are an integral part of the AISG experience. These activities occur after school and are optional for students to participate in. DISCOVERY BLOCK Tuesdays, 9:20 am - 10:00 am The Discovery block is designed for students to connect with peers outside their daily classes, be risk-takers by trying new experiences, and to enjoy building different skills across our CCA pursuits. Registration for an activity is mandatory. Lower Secondary (LS) - Students will participate in a total of four (4) different activities throughout the school year. Students are not permitted to repeat an activity during a school year. Upper Secondary (US) - Consists of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) service groups and activities from our CCA pursuits. LUNCH-TIME ACTIVITIES (LTAs) Lunch block, 11:25 am - 12:25 pm LTAs occur during the lunch block and are kept to a minimum to ensure students and faculty are not overburdened. The majority of these activities are societies & organizations as this is the ideal meeting time given their members commitments to other CCAs. CCA Pursuits Every CCA that is offered at AISG can fall into one (1) or more of the pursuits below. We try to keep a healthy balance of CCAs offered across all the pursuits. We believe balancing out pursuits as best we can provides students the best opportunity to become well-rounded individuals by exploring a variety of activities. Physical Pursuits Physical pursuits are non-competitive physical activities. This includes recreational sports, general health, and wellness activities. Creative Pursuits This strand provides our students with experiences to develop curiosity, interest, and enjoyment of their own creativity and an appreciation for others' work. Technology & Innovation Pursuits These pursuits offer students the opportunity to create, design, and problem-solve with like-minded peers in this ever-changing complex world. Academic Pursuits An opportunity for students to pursue and extend their knowledge, international awareness, and academic performance. Students should be at their bus stop about 5 minutes BEFORE the bus' arrival time. Please be on time and do not run to your bus stop. Students should NEVER run across the street when rushing to the School Bus. Have students form a line BEFORE the bus arrives at the stop. This keeps the loading zone safe and helps the students load the bus faster. Students MUST stay at least 6 feet away from the curb or edge of road. This keeps children safe from road traffic. When the bus stops completely and the bus monitor tells you that it is safe, you may get on the bus. Students that must cross streets need to wait for the Bus driver to signal that it is safe BEFORE they cross. Please use sidewalks and crosswalks when walking to your bus stop. Students must stay in their seats while riding the bus and always keep their seatbelts buckled. Students must always keep their hands, feet and personal items to yourself. Food and drinks without lids are not allowed. Water bottles can be used carefully. Students must follow all instructions from the bus monitor and driver carefully. Students must exit the bus carefully. Students must wait until the bus stops completely before unbuckling their seatbelt. Walk down the aisle and exit the bus slowly and carefully. Students must treat others with respect. Please speak in a quiet voice and use kind language at all times while on the bus. Our Fleet Our fleet of buses is inspected semi-annually prior to beginning of the Fall Semester by the Municipal Public Security Traffic Administrative Bureau and quarterly by the regional Education and Transportation Bureaus. The recent annual inspection was completed with an excellent record, a tribute to the outstanding work ethics of the fleet staff and their complete maintenance schedule. Please note that AISG authorizes the use of video cameras on school buses and on school property to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all persons and to safeguard school equipment, facilities, and property. The information below gives specifications for the computers, but for the full details, including where laptops can be purchased and serviced in Guangzhou, please refer to the AISG Secondary School Handbook. AISG realizes some families may already own an Apple computer and may want to use that computer for the 1:1 Program. To ensure students have equal access and opportunity and whether it is new or used, it is important that your child's computer meet these specifications. Minimum specifications for computers used in the 1:1 Program include: Model: MacBook laptop (we recommend Air, same as our teachers get) Memory: minimum 8 GB (all models come with min 8 GB) SSD Drive: 128 GB or more (we recommend 256 GB, same as our teachers get) Screen: 13″ inches (do not buy or send in an 11, 12 inch or the larger models) Note: AISG supports the 13-inch model of MacBooks. The 11 & 12-inch models are unsuitable for multimedia production, which students frequently engage in. AISG does not recommend machines larger than 13-inch model due to their weight. Whether an Air or Pro, we highly recommend a 13-inch model.
